| Extra Information | *Actual publication may not have taken place until 1635 or even early 1636, even though the printed date is 1634. Despite the "libro primo" designation, this was the only volume of Frescobaldi's Canzoni issued by Vincenti during the composer's lifetime. There is some dispute about the authenticity of the 1645 collection published by Vincenti, which was designated as "Libro quarto" in any case. Two previous collections of Frescolbaldi's Canzoni were issued as partbooks in 1628 in Rome, by Masotti and Robletti. |
