General Information

Work Title Canzon 'Ridon di Maggio i prati e i vaghi colli'
Alternative Title
Composer Hassler, Hans Leo
First Publication 1607, no.49 in Tabulatur Buch (Schmid II, Bernhard)
Piece Style Renaissance
Instrumentation Organ or other keyboard (see below, comments)

Misc. Comments

Though this comes from the section of the Tablature Buch that deals with 4-voice canzonettas, the book is organ tablature, and where Schmid says "other instruments", he is still talking about keyboard tablature. Nevertheless, the fact that it is a 4-voice canzonetta means that it is very suitable for 4-voice treatments.
