Misc. Comments
- This is an instrumental version of Canticles for Jerusalem (1983), a song cycle for soprano and piano, with the order of the movements changed. It was Fine's next-to-last composition. Her orchestration transforms the music into an extraordinary sound portrait of “the other side of the river.”
- For the original song cycle, see: http://imslp.org/wiki/Canticles_for_Jerusalem_(Fine,_Vivian).
