Misc. Comments
Other recordings come in around 2 minutes, including van der Kamp in the Glossa recording of Sweelinck's complete psalms.
(Not a cantata ; cantate is "sing" from the Latin title.)
Does not seem to be the same as his setting of the same text in Cantiones sacrae (no.63), which seems on the basis of a Amazon.com sound sample to be considerably more elaborate (and a recording of which takes 3 minutes 40, though that is not inconsistent.) (setting is in French? Title is Latin, anycase. RISM has key as D minor; admittedly in Renaissance this can be hard to settle - D minor/modal with opening more in A minor / D with flattened 7? or A minor with ending on the subdominant? Inclined to former interpretation, strongly so; makes much more sense.)
