Misc. Comments
For the 1st Sunday after Trinity.
Commentary on the movements
- Chorus: Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot. A movement of immense dimensions and of complexity far too detailed to be detailed here. A good analysis can be found in source 1.
- Recitativo (Bass): Der reiche Gott. Secco recitative.
- Aria (Alto): Seinem Schöpfer noch auf Erden. An aria, like the second, in ritornello form with violin and oboe obbligato.
- [Bass]: Wohlzutun und mitzuteilen vergesset nicht. An arioso-like movement with the vox christi (Bass) as the soloist.
- Aria (Soprano): Höchster, was ich habe. Two recorders in unison as obbligato.
- Recitativo (Aria): Wie soll ich dir, o Herr. String-accompanied recitative.
- Choral: Selig sind, die aus Erbarmen. A plain chorale setting.
