This piece was a dance tune from the renaissance so the score has open Instrumentation. I used two violins, two recorders and a cello for the midi.

General Information

Work Title Bransle de Montirade
Alternative Title
Composer Caroubel, Pierre-Francisque
Opus/Catalogue Number TMA 11 ; RISM A/I, P 5366.011
Movements/Sections 1
First Publication 1612 in Terpsichore, Musarum Aoniarum (No.11)
Piece Style Renaissance
Instrumentation 5 instruments
Extra Information These pieces were assembled and arranged by Praetorius for his 1612 publication Terpsichore. It is unknown if the composer intended them in this grouping or not. Grove Music describes all of Caroubel's dances as "harmonizations"; thus, the tunes themselves are probably not Caroubel's. Further, Grove lists them as "a 5".
