Percussion Quintet first composed for the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Staff Percussion Ensemble, under the directorship of Kurt Gartner. The work was performed in 2004 and composed quickly and by hand (the composer did not have access to a computer at the time and had to resort to a hand written score). The premier performance was an excerpted performance.

The percussion instrumentation includes hand percussion , hand drums, marimba, gong, bass drum, etc. and is written for a university level ensemble or advanced high school ensemble.

The work combines african polyrhythms with aleatoric sound gestures.
