  • Dubois apparently wanted to keep all options open:
    "Cette partie de Clarinette pourra remplacer celle de Violoncelle gravée sur la partition." (Notice at the bottom of the clarinet part).
    And vice versa, on the first page of the full score:
    "Une partie de Clarinette gravée à part pourra remplacer la partie de Violoncelle."
    The double bass appears only in the (full) score, but not on the title page. It is needed only if the organ is played without pedal (16 '), or if a harmonium is used.
There is also an Ave verum in F major by Dubois published by Graff as part of a collection in 1878 ("Nouvelle collection de douze motets et une messe breve...").
