Misc. Comments
Published in 1844 for voice and piano by Schott. Arranged by (or published in a collection assembled by? hrsg. is ambiguous) Franz Abt for men's chorus (a light arrangement - leichte) - 1858. Also according to HMB served as the subject of a number of fantasies, rondinos, etc. by other composers (Brunner, Louis Kohler, about ten others perhaps.) Also, several English translations published in the United States.
Appeared in a number of lieder-albums but not apparently itself -called- a lied, so tagging as song.
