Mainz: B. Schott's Söhne, No.6049, 1969. Plate 42398.
|Work Title||Vier Stücke für Fagott und Cello|
|Alternative Title||4 Pieces for Bassoon and Cello|
|Year/Date of Composition||1941 March, New Haven|
|First Performance||1942 ?|
|Average Duration||5 minutes|
If these are the same 4 pieces as on a Gasparo LP/CD, they're Moderato - Andante - Allegretto - Allegro (and the notes say - paraphrasing - These works can be performed with the parts exchanged (the cello part played by bassoon and vice versa).). The finale doesn't sound much like a set of brief variations nor the 2nd movement like a compact duet fugue, but will have another listen.)
