  • Normally, there is no author for folksongs, since they extend far back into history, and come from oral traditions. It is unclear whether J.L. Runeberg wrote original texts and called them folksongs, or whether he based his work on existing texts from the folk tradition. It's also ambiguous whether "folksongs" here refers to the music or the text (barring investigation).
