Misc. Comments
No.1 also published in 1872 by G. André of Philadelphia (translated, but may still be the first edition.)
The Bote & Bock edition of no.1 is advertised, and the opening of the poem reproduced, as early as the 5 April 1872 issue of Musikalisches Wochenblatt (page 240) (with versions for Sop., Mezzo, Alto or Bass listed.)
"Komm, ruh, an meinem Herzen aus" is a line from a poem by Ludwig Seeger (1810–1864) published in Morgenblatt für gebildete Leser, Volume 32; Volume 34 (page 701) (Cotta, 1840) (may be a coincidence - can find out when the text of op.417 no.2 is obtained.)
