Misc. Comments
- A charivari is a piece played with maximal noise (accompanied by whistling, pans,..) on widowed second wedding or for unpopulars persons.
- Dumanoir was a member of the 24 Violons du Roi.
- According to Grove Music, "[h]is surviving music largely reflects the repertory of instrumental dances played by the 24 Violons at court. It is scored for a four- or five-part string band, in thick homophonic texture, of which the outer voices are the most active."
