AMZ 1871 January 4 page 12 reports a Joachim Quartet Soirée in which Kiel's A minor Quartet was performed. (Not the piano quartet op.43 in the same key, since "ersten violine" (die andauernde Piccolo-Flöten-Lage der ersten Violine im Dritten Satze) is mentioned in the brief description of Kiel's quartet that follows and opus 43 only has one violin part. This might not have been the premiere, of course.)
