Leo Goldmark was apparently an impresario of the stage at the time. Someone of the same name- perhaps the same person - was involved with the New York Symphony Society and was the father of Rubin Goldmark, and uncle to Carl Goldmark. (Leo is more likely Leopold than Leonardo, if a nickname.)
