The style is mixed. The variations I-VII form the original version from 1977. They are in the style of late classicism. The second version was created 2006-7 by extending the work with additional 5 variations, VIII-XII. In these the style is mixed, from baroque in the Menuet (IX) to early modern style in the Tango (X), Ragtime (XI) and a piece inspired by Sergej Prokofiev (XII). The original version is dedicated to my former girl friend Lieselotte Giesse 1977. The new extended version is without dedication.
