Works are generally in the public domain in Canada, although not in the EU. US copyright status depends on publication and registration details. See public domain.

  • Symphony Nr. 1 "Klippepastoraler" (published by Samfundet)
  • Symphonies Nrs. 1-16
  • Any other works for solo piano
the majority of Langgaard's works, including (as far as i'm aware) all of the symphonies, were not published until Edition S started issuing them in in 1998. these editions would be unlikely to be public domain in any country. as for the manuscripts, they are mainly held in the royal danish national library in copenhagen, and have presumably not been made freely available in digitised form because in denmark they do not enter the public domain until 2023. Cheap Imitation 03:50, 13 September 2013 (EDT)
not all the symphonies. Edition Samfundet (t. Dansk Musik) ( = Edition-S? ) published symphony no.6 (1919) way back in 1946 (Edition Dania imprint?) (and others of his works earlier still.) - E.S. (and sym. 4 was published in 1973 by Dan Fog. Sym. 7 may have been published in 1927, not sure...) Ah! I see. Interesting... the 7th symphony, 1926 version, was considered missing until a score published by the composer at his own expense (I assume sometime ca.1926, but maybe not- between 1926 and 1952, not 1998, anyhow) was discovered , which formed the basis for the recording in a review of which I found that information... (and ah, again: HMB lists - Hofmeister's Monatsbericht (1927), p.125- "Symfoni No.7 Fdur f. Orch." by Langgaard, published by Hansen.)
  • Violin Sonata No.2, BVN 167 (1920-21, pub.1922)

Langgaard, Siegfried (1852–1914)

  • Efteraar : Sonate alla fantasia (pub.1907?)

Langhans, Wilhelm (1832–1892)

  • String Quartet, Op.4 (pub.1866)
  • Violin Sonata (later op.11) (pub.1878 initially w/o op.no.)

Langlais, Jean (1907–1991)

Works by this person are under copyright (unless some exception applies).
(There may conceivably be some compositions that fall into the "n.d." exception in the USA, though this seems unlikely. In any case, his first work with opus number, a Prelude et Fugue, was composed in 1927. - Schissel)

Le Sueur, Jean-François (1760-1837)

  • Ossian (I suspect the spelling of the composer's name is incorrect)
Le Sueur's? VIAF library-authority gives us a few options, but "Le Sueur, Jean-François" is definitely one of them (see http://viaf.org/viaf/9945810 ) As to this opera "OSSIAN ou les Bardes, Opera en cinq Actes", premiered or anyway performed in 1804 (but when first published?), it helps to mention what manner of a something, a something is, especially since Ossian was also a pseudonym of a real person, not just a title of a piece of music... :) - ES

  • if the 4th quartet op.62 (no.1?) (1910) ), string trio op.133 (1927) or other later chamber works e.g. the wind trio op.154 are available in PD-CA versions, those too, but I doubt it- they all seem to have been first published commercially 1964 and on, from what I can tell. Certain posthumous works may be copyrighted in Canada, and works first published in 1929 or later may be copyrighted in the United States. See public domain.

This tends to apply to the works of juvenilia that were excluded from the Gesamtausgabe of 1874–77; many were not published for the first time until the late 20th century – or are still unpublished. However, works published in the former East Germany by the (new) Leipzig Mendelssohn Ausgabe before 1978 may not be eligible for copyright protection.
