Described as a Cantata on Wikipedia-Fr (a quote from a biographical bit about Panseron in Frank Leslie's Sunday Magazine, 1885.) Actually, described as a cantata even as early as a review, in 1813, of the premiere of the work.

Musique d' Auguste-Mathieu Panseron, agé de 18 ans, qui a remporté le Grand Prix de composition musicale au Concours de l'an 1813." Pour soprano solo et orchestre" - quote from Rechercheisiodre.fr.
